Marc Desmanthus is a productive, perennial legume that is persistent, drought tolerant and palatable to livestock. Marc Desmanthus provides heavy seed production even under grazing and can thicken through seedling recruitment. This erect perennial grows to 60 cm tall and combines well with grass pastures in sub-humid moderate fertility environments.
This long lived legume can be sown with a range of native and planted grasses in permanent pasture systems. Suited to medium to heavy textured clay soils with neutral to alkaline pH, such as brigalow clays, open downs and heavier alluvial soils. Some tolerance to sodic and saline soils.
The Envirogro® seed treatment process is now a tailored seed treatment offering to aid in the establishment and productivity of tropical and subtropical seed varieties. Envirogro is a species-dependent, tailored process that produces the highest quality tropical and subtropical seed through improved seed cleaning, seed dehulling/scarification (where the species requires it) and a customised coating process to improve live seed numbers per hectare.
