Lawrence pearl millet is a high-quality summer annual forage tropical grass that originates in sub-Saharan Africa. Lawrence pearl millet is a dwarf to semi-dwarf plant type. Traditionally grown in regions too hot and dry for maize and sorghums, Lawrence may be the most drought-resistant summer grain crop and is best suited to sandy or light loams and moist but well-drained soils. The crop has a high-temperature requirement for growth and usually flowers from 40 to 55 days.
